Newer Baton Rouge Restaurants

We moved out of BR in 2008 and are going back to visit family in a couple of weeks.
The wife and I will have the rare opportunity for a "date night" since there will be family available to watch the kids.
It's my understanding that some good restaurants have opened in the last few years...and recommendations?

Not exactly date night material, IMHO.

The new one on Jefferson is...
There haven't been too many "date night" places open up since 2008.
I'd also recommend Sullivan's or Jubans if OP hasn't been there before.

Beausoleil would be a great date night place.

Dear Lord. I have no idea how this place is still open.

I'm pretty sure Beausoleil opened after 2008. That's your best bet.
City Pork II on Jefferson is another good option.
Rum House is fun, casual and cheap, but parking is a nightmare and service can be crappy.
If you like sushi, Ichiban did a huge remodel a few years ago and it looks nice.

Thanks for the ideas! I've heard so many good things about City Pork, so it's a toss up between these two.
I forgot about the Ichiban remodel, I might swing in there one day with the whole family. It'll be interesting to see how it's changed.

It might be better than Yama now.

A restaurant selling margaritas and beer within walking distance of a movie theater is a hard thing to screw up. You have to be really, really, REALLY awful. And they have improved the quality of the food since they first opened.

Great location.
Above average, albeit not great food.
Good bands that play live music weekly.
Not sure what's missing here?
