I got some beans and potato salad to go yesterday, and they were both good. Beans were as good as I remember, with lots of meat in them.
I haven't been to Podnuh's since the one on Essen burned down several years ago, and I remember that one had kind of a counter line where you told them what you wanted on your plate & paid at the end. The new one has sit-down and order from a waitress service. (I placed my to-go order at the small bar, so I guess they serve alcohol there.)
They had a fair amount of business for a Saturday afternoon, and seemed to be working pretty efficiently. A couple of large TVs with sports on, so it might be a good place to eat/watch a game.

Tastes like Podnuh's. Don't know what else you need to know.

I went on Friday. They have a full bar and a much more extensive menu than I remember Podnuh's having(I also haven't been since the one on Essen burned).
I had a brisket/jalapeno cheese sausage combo plate and baked beans. All in all it was good. I'll go back.

Not the same Podnuhs ... just the same name.
I've been twice ... food was good both times but first time i went the people were rude and the service sucked.

Out of pork and brisket everything else dried....yea I will defiantly drive out my way to the OTHER Podnuh's in the future. These guys have got some learning to do.

Went last week.
Pulled pork was almost ice cold a HUGE negative especially since it took a long time to come out. Service was not that great but its new so I give it a pass.
Texas Toast was awsome and will kill me one day.
Baked beans were good too.

Met the wife and kids there for lunch today. My thoughts:
-sit down at Podnuh's? Really?
-too much non BBQ on the menu. I didn't go there for a shrimp poboy.
-service was good for the most part, but it wasn't swamped in there.
-food came out quickly
-still the best baked beans in town, bar none
-chopped brisket sandwich on Texas toast was very good. Meat falling off, so portion size was good.
-only 1 side included now (I remember 2 sides at the other locations).
-kid's meals were a joke. 2 small fried chicken tenders that weren't very good. Fries straight from the freezer. Microwaved mac & cheese. All for $4.69 a pop.
So, we spent $36 (including tip) for lunch. At Podnuh's. Sorry, but there are better options for me to feed my family lunch at or below that price point. They need to lose the sit down/server aspect.

I thought it was going to be the same as the other Podnuh's on Sherwood Forest. I was severely disappointed to read here that it wasn't.

I thought this was owned by the original people and it was supposed to be better?
What about Couyons? Any good? How does it stay open in that high dollar location?

Burbank at gardere couyons beans are amazing... The couyons near lsu is nicer but the beans are bland (and that is what I think are the best part of couyons). I prefer voodoo' sauces

The original owners don't own all of them again. The Hopper's took over the Monroe and Baton Rouge locations, but the Shreveport ones are franchised. I can only assume that the new location in BR is a franchise, or my good friend Josey Wales would have bean grizzle in his goozel by now.

I've only eaten at the one on Sherwood and I don't know how Podnuhs exists quite honestly......the stuff is horribly bad. But that's me.
I've wondered for the last 10 years how that filthy place is open.

There are only 2 kinds of beans better than Podnuh's.... Jane Greer's and Danken Trail on the east side of the Mecca.
