The new Alex Box stadium didn't exist when I was at LSU so I will not support it.

I never went in the old Alex Box stadium and we won 4 or 5 national championships while I was there ('92-00). I couldn't go that long without drinking in one stretch.

As do I. He has made great business decisions. He's been capable of serving subpar food and making big money doing it. I'm just glad they are trying to do better. I get stuck at Walk-On's more than I would like during baseball season, and usually avoid eating, so it's a welcomed change for me.

Now if he could get a better beer menu at a reasonable price ok...one step at a time.

Honestly, where else can you go that's in reasonable walking distance? That's how he makes so much money. There should be about a half dozen restaurants in that area.

Well, is all that land right there still owned by LSU?

Kudos to Jeremy, a great position and I think he will do great with Walk On's. I have had the opportunity to talk to him and he is very down to earth guy, His experience in the kitchen speaks for itself, and with his recent job at the culinary institute, he now has plenty of teaching background, the combo of the two should really come together for this new Job

Warner will be the first to admit that the food has been an afterthought in the restaurant and bar's decade-long run.

That's not surprising at all. What sucks is that in a region renowned for eating well/great food, they admit that they just didn't give a frick about providing shitty food to their patrons. I'll be interested to see what they put out now that it's not an afterthought.

I was there for the nfl draft and jack was there with a group trying out some things. There was a guy in a white chefs jacket with them. I was wondering what was up and I guess now I know.

Maybe that's why they raised drink prices. Gotta pay for a real chef now

just wait until they upgrade their jet.

Seems like more an admission that their patrons don't give a frick about receiving shitty food.

Actually, I ate at Walk-On's on Poydras in N.O. today.

Wife had a burger and I had a blackend chicken with bacon sandwich. Both sandwiches were very tasty and the waffle fries and sweet potato fries were done well. The price was low and the food was good.

It was exactly what I expected, maybe better. I hope this chef doesn't come in and jack up the prices on basic bar food by adding arugula on a hamburger and calling it gourmet.

I'll give it another shot next fall. My major's student organization has a couple pot-meeting socials there every semester.

Like, within walking distance of the Box? I can't remember anything else being around there.

i don't think consistency is the problem. the food is OK, but it's just underwhelming IMO. whenever I eat there I can never decide what to get because it's all just "meh"

They need to get a better bun and one that isn't so sweet.

I hate sweet buns on a hamburger. Seems to be the rage around here. Twins in Lafayette has a bun that tastes almost like a glazed donut.

I cant stand that thing. It gets soggy and falls apart 2 bites in. And if they don't get it to you right after it was prepared, then the bun is useless
