Interesting comment, owners saying they took the space b/c they didn't want another business taking $$ away from them at Phil's.

No, it's closer to Perkins in front of Bulldog, the space that used to be some bakery, across the parking lot from Mary Lee's and next to the Red Zeppelin lot.

Do these people have money to burn or just stupid, or both?

If you ever met Jordan, you'd know it's a pretty healthy portion of stupidity.

Seems like opening up a new restaurant one hundred yards from your current one is like putting all your eggs in one basket.

honestly, i would do a pizza joint but with brick oven pizzas.

I dont think BR has any legit pizza places. Lit pizza is good and crust is amazing but i hate the subway type setup.

i know red zepplins is there and is decent but a brick oven cooked pizza would blow RZ out the water

or they should do a breakfast joint. Phils for lunch and dinner, then the other place for late night food and breakfast.

Ate at Phil's before a baseball game a month ago. Was good and will go again. Referred friends there this weekend, and they liked it very much.

i literally am baffled how nothing makes it here.

A lot of these places that have failed are not catering to the people that are frequenting this area the most.

Look at this stock photo from the linked article. As if this is Phils.

PS Table lasted about two years. I guess there weren't enough foodie hipsters with OT money to go around. The nearby Poke place should be having second thoughts.

Don't understand why you would agree to lease a space that expensive before having a concept in mind.

Jordan if you are reading this - Sichuan food!!!!! Contact Mala Sichuan in Houston about franchising!

This wont make it either.

Appeal to the people that go to the bar around there.

RZ is 5 feet away and is packed all the time and you would want to put a pizza place in that spot?

You also have lit, schlitz, mellow mushroom, and all the chain places within 5 minutes.

This sounds like an even worse idea lol.
