From the wording in the article, they are avoiding bombers?

What about oculto and mangorita?

I've never confused a retail spot for a bar, but I guess maybe there is potential for that in NOLA. Still, I think closing at 7 seems like a bad idea.

Paulin also said that no... individual bottles of beer will be sold in the store either.

I hope he just wasn't thinking straight and that this doesn't apply to bombers. I can't imagine that being a good idea for a bottle shop.

If you can't buy single bottles, it's not going to work. No one wants to spend $9-10 on a whole six pack of a beer they aren't sure they like.

That's probably for safety reasons.

Wow, sounds creative and original.

It seems like you can build your own six pack or four pack. And I'm sure it has something to do with the license because of the neighborhood. But if they can't sell bombers why bother?

Is that possible..I would think in order to get some things, other things have to be ordered..

I would say Abita, NOLA, and Lazy Mag are pretty common in the area.

shite's so stupid. Steins and Martin Wine Seller, in addition to innumerable little corner stores, are in much more "residential" type areas and can sell single bottles retail.

I hate the current Nanny populated city council.

Id be careful reading too much into what was said by owners of a bar to members of a neighborhood group. They are saying all the right things to assuage neighborhood concerns that this wont be a bar or a convenience store that sells tall boys of Natty Light and single dose cigarettes. Although in that area anything is an improvement.

Skeptical of longterm success of a place that only has beer revenue. Steins has sandwiches, Martins and others, wine and liquor sales.

Remarkably and sadly, this never seems to be the default consideration for these things.
