I didn't care for Bear's poboys. Found it to be really bland. But I only tried it once, so it might've been an off night.

Wow. I will only hold to saying that the Roast Beef is without equal. The Ferdie and the Shrimp are good but nothing out of the ordinary. If you didn't like the Roast Beef I would find it surprising, but your posts and taste are always great IMO so I will have to respect it.

I miss Juniper too. I see that N'Tini's has hired one of the chefs from Juniper so hopefully their food will improve (I haven't had a great meal there but it gets the love).

The only legit Mexican food is from Taqueria La Noria. I am half Mexican. Lengua, el pastor and menudo. All the other places are tex mex crap.

Sushi is all about Kazuko. Megumi is good but pricier and service is usually awkward. Kazuko treats us like regulars w/ perks.

I like Pizza Man for pizza even though the service sucks and the place is dirty.

Lola for lunch is always money.

There are no good Vietnamese options up here and BBQ is still lacking except for Sweet Daddy's.

Don't forget to pick up crawfish and oysters from Bateaus on highway 59. It's getting to be that time of year ya know.

Bear's poboys are awesome. If you want a bland roast beef got to Parkway. (I do like Parkway's other options).

Were you at the one in Covington? When I posted about Bear's last month, some folks mentioned that all locations were not created equally. The RB PB I ate had a lot of flavor. That's one of the things I liked so much.

The RB at Bear's in Covington is far superior than every other location.

I went to the one in Mandeville. Like I said, I only went once and it could've been an off day. Everyone else loves them.

The onion rings at Pontchartrain Poboys area great!
