18 y/o for his birthday. Want him to be able to get a good steak, but a steakhouse is not a must.

I know of many of the standard places, but I've been raising kids (and paying for them) for years so I know there are some good ideas I might be missing.

Fogo de Châo. It's pricey but I belive your son should be able to eat his money's worth.

Bones-possibility
Ray's on the River-on the radar
2 Urban Licks and Serpas-not interested in going downtown (too much hassle)
Fogo de Chao-been there several times

As an aside, any of you been to Parker's on Ponce?

Marcel is a new spot worth a visit .... Old school options like hals and bones sure but the young buck might enjoy the livelier atmosphere

I'm glad to see that Serpas is still up and going. I ate there a few years ago and enjoyed it very much.

Bones is great. Awesome service. I had to mystery shop them a few times. Was insanely hard to find anything wrong. They wanted me to put something.

Parker's is solid. Went there a few months ago and had a damned good steak.

Bones, Hals, Rathbuns for steak. All 3 are on the same level, just depends the vibe you are looking for.

Bones is my favorite steakhouse in Atlanta area
Hals is really good, New Orleans style steakhouse
Little Alleys is overrated and overpriced in my opinion I was not impressed
Top Golf idea is a good one. But if your going to come to Alpharetta area then Pampas steakhouse is a very good option
Rays on the creek is decent as well

Villa Christina was really good back in the day. Is that place still open?

Atlanta is a far cry from New Orleans when it comes to restaurants but it does have some good ones. My favorite is La Grotta, an excellent Italian restaurant in the basement of a condo building in Buckhead.
