Taking the pregnant wife out for a brunch date. Need some recommendations in baton rouge.
I know Beausoleil is awesome but want some other opinions and options.

What time is the meal set for? If it is past 10AM, you need to make it a simple lunch. If it is before 8AM, it is breakfast. If it is between 8 and 10, someone over slept of was t ready in time for breakfast and should be held accountable for their actions by delaying their leisure "don't give two shits about others" attitude and wait until normal lunch time.

Just my .02.

Good god man. It's OK to step out of the typical three meals a day.

I don't care for an omelet at 11AM after I've been up for 5-6 hours at that point. I understand people wanting pancakes at 11am if they just woke up an hour prior.

I don't eat a crawfish filled omelet with imported crawfish and étouffée topped French toast with mimosas and bloody Mary's between 10AM to 1pm on a menu with twice the cost because it is considered a delicacy.

You sound like a barrel of fun. I bet everyone gets upset when you leave the party

My partying days are over. Last night's posts about brunch were trolls towards The Englishman that continues to invite me to brunches while knowing how I feel about them.

I wasn't a brunch guy until I figured out it was acceptable to drink vodka during them. Since then I've transformed into king brunch. Try ordering a three finger salty dog at breakfast time without being judged by your fellow diners. Ain't gonna happen. Wait two hours and order it and those same diners will be like "oh look, there's King Brunch. Waiter I'll have what King Brunch is having".

Well I've always used it pretty much the same. An excuse to have cocktails after church. "Amen already father, I've got some sinning to do."

To the OP I like Diguilios for brunch. They do a very nice pasta carbonara which they only do for Sunday. And they have a patio which I can assure you any place with one will be packed today and tomorrow.

Portobellos has a great menu and I've never had to wait for a table. That's my favorite brunch spot in BR.

Bistro Byronz also does brunch.

Beausoliel is our favorite by far. We are there probably 3 Sundays a month.
