I will be stopping by the Garden District location either Saturday or Sunday evening. I have never tried macaroons before and I am aware that Sucre supposedly has the best in the city.

What are some macaroon flavors I should order? Are there any other pastries or desserts that blow your mind? The All Things Nola sundae looks tempting.

Go with whatever the seasonal one is, they're all good.

The king cake macaroons are insane and I'm not usually a sweets bro.

Everything is crazy arse expensive there. Some good stuff, but damn.

Normally, we just get whatever looks good at the time.

That's what I've heard. And based off of the prices listed on their website, it looks like I will need to choose wisely.

Sometimes they have the damaged macaroons sitting out for you to sample to help you decide on a flavor. Get ready for a butt-diddlin on the price, though. I used to only get them when my future diabetic of a boss was buying.

I'll hope for the best with the free samples.

How much do you typically spend whenever you stop in?

I'd be suspect of anyone who claims something from a trendy, overpriced bakery "blew their mind."

But then again sweets are boring to me.

I prefer my sweet shops to be rough and manly too. Get some roughcut pine beams in there.

What are some better dessert options, in your opinion?

What does this even mean?

What would you suggest in place of it?

There is another dessert place in the warehouse district. Forgot the name of it, only been once. Near the square though.

A filet with a pour of bourbon to wash down the ribeye I just ate.

I like bittersweet better. And Manhatten Jack's too.

Whatever looks good to you. I don't really get the hate it generally gets. Get a box of macaroons and/or box of chocolate to go. Order a cupcake and/or dessert to eat there with some coffee. Milkshakes are very good. Gelato is good. Get what you like.

Unfortunately they close early on Sunday. That's a shame because it's much closer to where I am eating dinner that evening.

Got it. I am amazed by the polarizing opinions that people have with these sorts of these places.
