I was in the area today for work and I got handed a menu at a red light. That's all I needed and I turned the truck around and pulled in. I got smothered pork steak and gravy over rice, potato salad, spaghetti and cheese and a big piece of cornbread. The food was great and tasted just like a meal your grandmother made you. Ms. Lizz even came out of the kitchen and talked with me for a while and left me with a big hug. Best plate lunch I have had in Baton Rouge, I will definitely be returning.
She had a special today that was $2 fried turkey wings dipped in what looked like a thin buffalo style sauce.
Anyone ever been here?

I work in NBR and this is a great little place. For all the dripping vaginas in the thread, man up. Nobody is going to mess with you over there.

I used to work at Evangeline & Plank... there are all sorts of great little lunch spots around there. I never felt unsafe during the day.

You obviously need to be aware of where you are, but the the NBR shtick about your a dead man if you cross over FLA Blvd is worn out.
There isn't much variety but they do have some good little plate lunch joints around there.

I can almost see this from the window of my office. Used to love Dixie Maid until some of our employees were held up at the order window. I'd call that being messed with.
