What are a couple of "choice" restaurants in Biloxi and particularly for New Years Eve?

32 at the IP is a pretty nice place, and it's 32 stories up so if you time it right, you'll get to see the fireworks over Biloxi beach. The bar is cool up there too.

32 at IP is great

Chimneys in gulfport

Bacchus (one in gulfport and one in pass Christian). Both are good food and fun times with live music

Half shell in Biloxi and then adventures bar across the street for late night shenanigans

Can't go wrong with ocean springs downtown for night life (murky water BBQ is great)

875 bar in beau

Mary Mahoney's is overrated. Almost everything on the menu is covered in some kind of sauce and is very heavy. The menu in general is very antiquated. Food is bland. Caters to the old folks IMO. It is more "formal" and is a passable meal, though. Decent bar area and drinks.

Bacchus is a good spot. They are making everything in house, too. Good flavors. Menu is small, though.

I have a beef with Half Shell- the place is named after oysters yet they have the smallest oysters on the half shell I've ever seen. And this is a few weeks ago doing prime oyster time. Oysters in NOLA were double their size. Otherwise, the food is pretty good and the building is cool.

Honestly, the casinos put out the best food on the coast imo, but you're going to pay. Ruth's, BR Prime, Jia... All put out great food

Agreed. Very 1980s. But people love the place. It baffles me. Absolutely most overrated restaurant on the coast.

There are some good places in Bay St Louis if you want to drive 30 minutes.

ETA: I like Samurai sushi in Gulfport.

Fine dining is not exactly the ticket on the coast. Gaston is right - Sycamore House in BSL is legit. Stick to the faster options between BSL and Gulfport. Bacchus is pretty good. Half Shell. Mahoneys.

Frankly my favorite is a double cheeseburger from Pirate's Cove. But I'm a dumb meat eater so, there is that.

Sycamore House tries to be so pretentious. The chef/owner whoever it is that's always there is very off putting. You're In BSL not NYC. Chill out
