Which steakhouse chain do you like more? I went to Morton's in Hawaii this summer and was very impressed. I went a few days ago here in New Orleans. I think the service and steak is better than the majority of RC's I've been to. I used to go once a month as a kid with my grandpa. Which one do you like better?

Morton's in NOLA is terrible. The ambiance is fantastic, the actual food is terrible considering the price. I've had better steaks at Outback, and I wish I was exaggerating.

You are exaggerating. If not, you are just plain stupid.

To answer the OP. I find Morton's and RC in Metairie to be comparable, but I give the slight edge to Morton's. I give a big edge to Morton's over the Ruth's Chris on Fulton.

I do wish they would re-open the original Ruth's on Broad. Would be awesome.

I'm not exaggerating, at all. I had the cajun ribeye, and my wife had the filet. My ribeye was OK, my wife's steak came out cold. They were both lacking in flavor.
The actual quality of the didn't stand out for $110 cost. And I actually have had a better filet at Outback. Sorry to burst your Morton's bubble.

Clearly it was an off night for them, but so what? At that price point, that should never happen on two different entrees at the same table.

The dessert and drinks were very good though.

You are not bursting my bubble. I will continue to order and eat great steaks at Morton's. Of course I am able to communicate what I want and be assured to receive it.

A Cajun Ribeye? I have no idea why you would order that at a steak house using premium cuts of meat. You might as well order Choice if you are going to hide the flavor of the meat with a "Cajun" seasoning.

The only way A steak comes out cold at Morton's is if it is ordered RARE, then it should be served with a bright red center and cool to the touch.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your experience and thought it was not worth the money. As you say, everyone has an off night, I just have not had one at Morton's (or Ruth's for that matter).

Now I will say, I was not a fan of the overly pepper encrusted steaks of Mr. John's last time I was there.

If people want an accurate ranking of the Steak Houses in NOLA, it goes:

Morton's
Ruth's Chris

Mr. John's
Crescent City
Besh Stake House

And I would still take a La Boca steak dining experience over any of them.

Morton's uses the reverse-sear method

Ruth's uses the microwave method

I'll give the nod to RC. Mortons has great apps and salads. But the prices are really too high.

Yea, my issue was I couldn't communicate my order.

Apparently not when I went. And they were no where near capacity, so that excuse is out.
