$2.89 for a boiled turkey neck. Can't beat it. Never had anything else.

Location is a non-starter for me.

I'm in South Baton Rouge. Damn bugs would be cold by the time I got back to highland.

Picked up some boiled crawfish from them a few weeks ago and they were really good. As I waited in line for my order I saw waiters bringing out huge plates of fried seafood and boiled shrimp. Place was packed and everyone looked pretty happy.

I highly recommend.

We eat here at least once a week. I have never had a bad meal here. The service can get a little backed up when they are busy but WELL worth the wait.

I pass by there all the time and it's always packed. Guess I need to stop there one day.

Borderline asinine comment.

Best in BR? Perhaps.

Best in the state? Not even close.

Mrs Darleen's crab-boiled potato salad is one of the best in town, but has some kick for lightweights..be forewarned.

Parrain's creole potato salad that comes with Friday's Tabasco Mustard Catfish lunch special is my fav..and should be on the permanent menu..but at least they aren't running out of it by 12:30 lately.

*Memo to Parrain's Management*

Everybody I know hates your bland dry Cajun Rice that is a menu staple and on many dishes, yet like myself most all rave over your Creole Potato Salad that accompanies one Friday lunch special..despite the cost, prep time, and freshness keep factors, is it something to consider?

I stand by my opinion. It probably is the best in town, but not even close to some other places in LA, such as Hawks, Cajun Claws, Rockys, Crab Trap, Mo' Crawfish, DI's, etc....

So eat there.

It's fantastic. When we lived in Baton Rouge, we would go often. Not close to where we lived at all, but worth the trip.

Great food. Even better people. They will go out of their way to help you. Randy is always willing to pick me out the best sack of live he has or order whatever I want.

Got a little Lafayette homerism I see.

Do you understand what the phrase "not even close" actually means? Now that's an asinine statement.
