Its good for what it is, which is a fried fish place (obvious I know). They do have a thin fried but its not close to middendorf's. Their thick fish is pretty decent.

Pickle barrel was just recently bought by a former ULM baseball player. From what I hear he has turned it into a pretty good beer bar, not sure if they still serve lunch or supper.

They serve lunch and dinner. The new owner is trying to change the atmosphere by having live bands play on the weekends. They do have a nice bar area now, with quite a few on tap.

Food could be better, but it's not a bad place (for Monroe anyway) to drink and hang out.

I go there all the time for lunch, but last week it took us over an hour to get our food.

This...although I prefer the food at Daq's or Trio's myself.
