Another one bites the dust.

It was on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette where the old El Paso used to be, virtually next door to Posados. I frequented El Paso mostly because of their two for one margarita specials and would occasionally get an entree. I know the owner and he said that the other El Paso locations were doing well, but he just couldn't bring in the business at this Lafayette location. He closed, Molcajete's took over and eliminated the drink specials so there was no real reason for me to go there anymore, although I did try it once. I guess opening up next to an institution like Posados would be an uphill battle.

How is Posado's still in business? Have they been there over 10 years?

Been about a month now. Grass is 2 feet high. Already shaky, but the Cosco opening didn't help.

You will know that Posado's is about to go under when they start having Wednesday and Thursday night Karaoke!

That's another one of those locations that seems to be cursed. The food was decent at best.

But you can get your El Paso fix soon enough, as they are moving into the old Shoneys on Pinhook.

Speaking of curses, Mellow Mushroom seems to have broken it at Johnston and Doo Say.

Funny, if true. But Toucan's was actually pretty popular for a while.

I passed by the other day and saw the El Paso was about to open and was wondering if it was the same people that shut down on Ambassador.

I get the feeling La Rumba might not make it in the old Jolie's building.

Chuy's is pretty terrible.

Ok, so I'm driving past this building, the Molcajete's sign is down, and in it's place is EL PASO - open soon. WTF??? El Paso failed and moved out, Molcajete's moved in and failed, now El Paso is moving back in. Someone please explain this one to me. The only thing I can figure out is that El Paso owns the building and was leasing it to Molcajete's. Since the building was standing idle, perhaps they thought they may as well make some money on it.

It sort of reminds me of the Asian buffet that's going in by Rouse's. There used to be Golden Wok there, they moved out and failed in their new location, and now another is moving in. Perhaps it's Golden Wok moving back in too.

Developing Lafayette said that the former Golden Wok location on Pinhook was going to be El Paso. TWO El Pasos? I'm so confused.
