Anyone attempt that mirliton and shrimp soup recipe that was popping up all over facebook over the weekend? I did, and it came out pretty good!

*I could only find a medium sized bottle of pecan oil for $18, so I used Canola as a substitute, and could not find any quick mix flour so just used a little regular flour instead. Also added two cans of corn to it!

Mirlitons go great in most any soup.
Cooked some in a chicken veggie soup this past weekend.

Try mirlitons in a seafood/okra gumbo sometime.

Go to Sammy's market on Elysian fields.

Ask for a cup (or bowl) of Mirliton soup. No one does it as good as them. Hell I think I'm having a bowl for lunch.
