Trump should buy the places and shut him down next week.

I don't understand the point of this, but good for him.

It's his business, so he's welcome to do what he wants. However, I'm sure he would be the first to excoriate NOLA restaurants for closing this weekend.

Well, I won't go to any of his restaurants! Not that I ever intended to. Not a fan of his anyway.

Unless this is the chef at KFC or Pizza Hut, I doubt he'll lose much business...

So, it's not political...Trump just creeps him out? That's just bizarre and not even believable. Does he think Trump is going to kill him or something? He'd be better off just saying he doesn't like him and doesn't want him in his restaurant.

I wonder how many other creepy people he's banned from his restaurant. He can do what he wants, but so can his potential patrons.

He's got zero room to call names. Symon looks and acts like a fruitcake. I would expect to see him in chaps on top of a bar on St. Anne St.

Dude is a clown. And he's in Cleveland. He's irrelevant.

If Trump's never been there, guess the ban wouldn't have much impact.

I'm not sure if Michael meant for this to go viral, but it's ironic that it's almost identical to how Trump says something controversial and then it blows up on social media, perhaps in his favor.

From employees up to the owner(s) politics, religion and restaurants don't mix imo. Don't talk about the first two in, around or regarding restaurants.

I'm with Gris Gris in not buying the argument that he simply is creeped out by Trump. Banning a possible future president seems like a bit of an attention getter, or there are other motives. It really should take a lot for a James Beard recipient to ban someone from their restaurant for little or no valid reason other than a personal one.

Maybe he's merely trying to drum up publicity.

So if the baker that got sued for not making the cakes for the gay wedding would of said it just creeps them out, then they would of been okay?

It's a damn shame. I went to Mabel's BBQ in Cleveland before the USWNT vs Japan match. Very good. I guess I won't frequent his establishments any longer. Never mix politics with your business.

Well this will have the reverse chickfila effect on his restaurants

Free market is a bitch and he just alienated half of his possible customers by being a bitch.

I will never understand why somebody would do that

Ugh he was one of my favorite celebrity chefs. I'm not even a huge trump guy. Don't care if he "creeps" him out, if its political or if he is just marketing.

It's odd
