LINK

Word today is it will be in the old Serrano's building on Johnston/Doucet. I have no idea about this place but just can't see it making it here. Love them or not, Pizza Village, Deano's, and Alesi's rule the roost, not to mention everything in this location has been a failure. I don't understand why people keep buying these pizza franchises here (Pie Works, Italian Pie, Pappa Murphy's, and soon to fail, Pie Hole) ?

There's too much good local pizza for Mellow to survive long, but they're a good chain.

La Pizzeria will surely compete with them.

That building is doomed, nothing lasts there.

Mellow does a good job with drawing people in. Will be interestng to see what happens.

I've eaten at the original Mellow. Was at the intersection of Johnson's Ferry and Roswell Road in Sandy Springs outside of Atlanta. Place was started by a bunch of hippies(I am a closet hippie)and was great. Back in like 1976.

La Pizzeria

I have to admit their food is good. However, went there for the last time about 6 years ago; family from out of town with us, found a crayon wrapper in bottom of drink glass after finishing drink. Called manager over, didn't do any good, owner came over, blamed some new diswasher for it ! Now I don't expect a free meal for everyone (only 3 of us, I would have taken care of it) but he should have at least PAID for the meal of our family member. I thought it was really shitty he blamed some minimum wage dishwasher instead of taking the blame and admitting that this was totally unacceptable. Telling him this is bad for business he kept blowing it off as if this was akin to bringing out the wrong order. That told me all I need to know about the guy.

He probably isn't there now. Ate there in June and had the caesar salad, the grilled pizza margharita and a few Canebrake's. I enjoyed it a lot.

I guarantee one thing, I'll get drunk and eat pizza there at least once before it's gone.

The lease on that property is around 14K per month. Good luck slinging that many pies

NO, just a quick type. Same as B.R. or N.O., see the pattern ?

They have a pretty good beer selection and try and establish a good bar scene as well. That is steep rent though.
