So Amazon has a pretty nice deal on the 30" Masterbuilt electric smoker for $139. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on it. Anyone have any experience with this? Pros and cons?

No tax and free delivery at Amazon wins.

What I was getting at is that Amazon is making it seem like a better deal than it is. WalMart shows the list price at $177, not the $299 @ Amazon.

Gotcha. I checked and Cabelas has it on sale at $189 instead of their regular price of $229.
$139 seems to be a pretty good price

If you buy it, then come back and post about the results. I'd like to get a cheap one like that myself, but I've always seen mixed results.

Will do. I just ordered it from Amazon and it should be delivered Friday. I'll break it in over the weekend and post the results.
Seems to get really good reviews everywhere that I've checked.

Father in law has one, works ok, if you don't want to use a bigger offset smoker.

i have one and a weber smokey mountain charcoal smoker. and i find myself rarely using the electric...for me, having smoked in both, i find the results from my WSM to be superior.

plenty of people on here speak highly of the MB electric smokers; you might be quite happy but it just isn't for me.

I just ordered from walmart. $8 tax, but free ship to store. I figured $8 for piece of mind to be able to return locally if something shites the bed.

Never used an electric smoker but I have seen the propane smokers for about the same price.

i have that smoker

its great for what it is.....and its damn near foolproof

i recently got a kamado cooker, so i've been toying with it more than anything, but 139 is a good deal for that smoker IMO
