Rest in peace. Prayers to the entire Gino's family.

Sorry to hear that. She had to be 90 I would guess since the kids are in their 60's.

Not my favorite but I've had plenty of good meals there over the last I guess 40 or so years.

I have eaten there enough over the years and I enjoy it. However, because I am much closer to Ruffino's location, this is where we usually go when we are craving Italian.

Nevertheless, I'm glad that we have two very good options in this town.

Hope all is well for you.

I prefer Diguilio's for red Italian and Nino's for newer Italian. I like Ruffin's pizza and wine list.

Sadly, I've never been to Nino's. I have read your posts in the past about this place and I want to try it - just haven't gotten around to it.

RIP

Great spot with solid food and character. If I could teleport one BR spot to NOLA, this is it.

I will never forget two things that happened while working there.

One, when she told Lawrence to "Go poke yourself!" at the top of her lungs.

Two, the sound her thumb made when she grabbed the handle of a saute pan that I left sitting over a high flame for several minutes. (It was a very busy night. The whole kitchen was in the weeds.)

Yup. Best Italian restaurant in the state.

Sad to hear. I've never been there and she wasn't there.

Not just hanging out, but working. Always working.
