I knew it was under new management with continuing consultation from the former owner but that was the last time I will go there.
Smaller poboys, ordered the root beer ham, way too salty and hardly any ham on the poboy.

And those bastards took the carved turkey of the menu.

I am amazed that place stays busy. I would rather wait an hour and eat at Rum House than have no wait at Mahoney's

Place was horrible to begin with

End of Days for Mahoney's.
Sounds like they lost their last fanboy.

Name me one other place in the city that has a carved turkey poboy on their everyday menu. It's was a solid one off. I've been there a few times since the change and that is my only complaint with the changes made.

Rouses
I usually pick up that in-house turkey every Sunday.

Why wait an hour at Rum House when Superior Grill is just down the street?

Wrong. I live off the in house turkey there but it's not the same as having a carved bird like on Thanksgiving. You get a mix of white and dark meat. Not some processed breast meat.
On a side note the in house roast beef is awesome at Rouse's. I also prefer the BBQ flavored turkey to the other flavors.

He was just pointing out his distaste for Mahoney's...which I completely agree with.

I haven't been there in years, but the last time some of their poboys were more than $20. That's crazy.

Too bad, that's usually the best thing they have to offer. I live basically next door and never go in any more.

Fresh carved turkey rocks if you can find it. Used to love The Pearl for that.

I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Our table ordered the Peacemaker-very good po boy, the grilled shrimp/fried green tomato poboy-it was good but the shrimp tasted "funny", it would've probably been better with fried shrimp, muffaletta-HORRIBLE, the olive salad was bad & it was basically a big giant deli ham sandwich. I found the prices were a little high, except for the Peacemaker, that was good & worth it.

Went once. Ok food, but not worth that much money. Never bothered going back.
