My Dad and I both live in midcity and don't eat out in Sherwood Coursey area often. I'm off this week, and we're running errands out there tomorrow - thought we'd do lunch. Can only think of Chimes East - what other good options can we get a good lunch with midday cocktail on a Monday? Thanks in advance.

Chimes east would be my choice. Nice weather out makes the patio/setting at Portico a decent option.
Maybe Capitol City Grill is the best choice if it is cocktails.

I'd go to poccorellos if I was you. They don't have a bar though. You also have an albasha, south of philly, hunans, las palmas, jays BBQ, and all the places previous posters have said

Chimes East is the only oasis in that gastronomic wasteland.

Yeah. Definitely go to Poccorello's if you like to hear a trashy employee (daughter?) loudly say "shite" every other word while you wait on mediocre food, the order having been taken by an old bag who acted like she was doing you a huge favor at her extreme inconvenience.

Portico if you crave some good Sysco, they could at least hide the massive amount of boxes you see if you park in the back. Sherwood-Coursey has a lot with full bar, Capital City Grill, Chimes East, I think Albasha qualifies ans don't forget Uncle O's.. Mason's is not far away either.

Hawks nest if it is still open.

Sysco delivers to virtually every restaurant. I would imagine every restaurant in BR gets something from them, or their closest competitor, whoever that is.

Yes, every restaurant likely buys something from Sysco, from napkins to the entire menu. If Portico is buying that many napkins they could absorb the BP spill and a levee break. Just taste what they serve, you don't need to see the boxes.

I remember the last time a group of us went there around 2001 or so. I always liked that place but not sure if I would eat there now.
Anyways, Ole Walt O Reilly ordered fried catfish. The shite was green looking
who orders fried catfish from a place like that?
