I'm looking for something that's not run of the mill for a friend's birthday lunch. Any suggestions?

I gave it two tries and I can't put it in the top 5.

On a good day I'd put them in my top 5. But in the same area I like Joe Sepie's and Rivershack better.

Gonna have to try it, but World Deli has the Best int eh wrold. So it may be hard for Bears to have the best in Jefferson Parish

The Galley runs a monopoly on seafood restaurants in the area. Their prices are outrageous. Food is good, though.

Old Metry:
Norjoe's
Mark Twain's
Radosta's

If you want to go to Bucktown:
R&O's
New Orleans Food and Spirits
Mr Eds
Deanies

I haven't been everywhere in the area yet but I can tell you I have posed this type of question on here and haven't been led wrong yet!
