Casamigos Anejo is pretty damn good.

Give Don Julio a whirl. It's available most everywhere.

Don Julio anejo is what turned me on to sipping tequilas

Don Julio Reposado is what gave me a different perspective on tequila.
I really like Cazadores Anejo.

After trying some good tequilas, splurge and try Don Julio 1942. Not all bars will have it, but it is usually around $15-20 for a single. Damn it is good.

Once you've have Herradura, you will wonder why you paid so much for Patron.

1942 is damn good if you are sure it is what the bar says it is. I got burned once buying two shots that showed up tasting like Sauza. Returned it and told the bartender that they were shitty for mixing bottles.
I would recommend splitting a bottle ($115) with a friend or two on a big occasion.

I'm not a tequila guy, but I've had an Anejo Old Fashioned made with Espolon Anejo, Agave, and Angostura bitters, and it was damn good.

Good tequila is meant to be served neat (no ice and at room temp)if you are sipping on it. If you go to Mexico and order it, they'll serve it at room temperature. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but seriously, buy a good tequila and sip on it at room temp.
That being said, ditch the Patron and try something better.

I recommend anything you can identify from the top 3 shelves. Casamigo is a good entry-level tequila that is formulated to appeal to the American palate. Pour it neat or serve it with one ice cube (never "On the Rocks") Once you have good tequila, Patrón will be the last thing you want to drink...

I'll be honest, I thought sure there would be a bunch of Patron die hards seeing as how much people love spending so much on yeti around here. Glad to see that the FDB has the same thoughts I do about Patron.

I think the baseline Patrons are overrated, but the high end ones like Bourdeos and Piedra are special

Esperanto is my favorite. Only available in Mexico.

I'm sure I will get laughed out of the thread, but the Costco Anejo is very good.
