Has anyone tried this yet? I think this is a pretty good thing for the state. So far in BR, Beausoliel, Ruffino's and Acme are participating.

he Louisiana Catch and Cook Program and Permit, a program where permitted retail food establishments will be able to prepare certain recreational fish caught by properly licensed fishermen. Rules and regulations, penalties, terms, conditions and requirements will apply to those food establishments and fishermen participating in the program.

Is there a list of acceptable fish or can I bring in a gar or goo?

no, you bring in the clean fish and they cook it. It's real simple.

I'm pretty sure this is common in other countries. I've been on fishing trips in Belize where we brought back fish and lobster to the local restaurants...they would both clean and cook the fish for you.

Heck, some days after a long day of fishing in the sun, the last thing I feel like doing is standing over a bbq pit and cooking. I might would be open to trying this.

Same here, and I definitely don't feel like going to a restaurant. Cooking fish is quick and easy. The good restaurants, like Peche, have really fresh fish so Id rather just keep my fish at the camp.

I might be the dense one but I keep my fish in ziplocs and on ice. I could even use a small soft sided cooler to carry in to the restaurant.

I'm usually heading to a restaurant after I get back from fishing like clock work. I rarely take the time to stop fishing and eat when I'm on the water unless its a bag of chips. Usually by the time I'm home, I'm ready to go pig out somewhere.

Over here in the 'sippi they do this at the marina restaurants in both the Pass and BSL. So basically you don't even go home...just roll up and grab a few fish from the box. I've never done it though.

At the marina is more appealing, especially if they are cleaning the fish.

We've done this a few times in Destin. Go out on a charter all day, come in and they clean your fish, take them to AJ's or one of the other places that do it and they cook em up to order. Always thought it worked out pretty good
