It would be interesting to see how many of them just opened in the last 2 years.

I've never heard anybody on the FBD thread mention Cajun Fire or Wayward Owl, and they're right there in NOLA. What's the scoop on those two? Are they brewing beer, yet?

ETA: TiA, I'm right here...

I think I've seen both at Nola on Tap as homebrewers, maybe they are a club. I took the list from Chuch of Sacred Brews Facebook.

I don't much about them but I would be more than half are less than 2 years old. Gnarley Barley just made two years a few months ago.

Wayward Owl,

Getting close to brewing. LA guy who went to Washington to brew beer now coming home to run his own place. I'm looking forward to this one.

Do you know an ETA for when they will be up and running? Will it be like a Courtyard, Second Line, Urban South?

Not sure what you mean. It's going to be a production brewery from what I understand, so not like Courtyard.

Well like Courtyard is in house only
Urban South has cans now
and I've never been to Second Line so not sure how to compare it. However, you did answer in the not like Courtyard part.... Will they have a tap room?

To my knowledge and by my count, 11 of those guys don't even really brew.

Wayward Owl has me the most cautiously optimistic. Good guy from what I've seen, and he's surrounded by people that know a metric frick ton about beer. I'm gonna be all over that place like List on Brash when it opens.

Why don't the resident beer experts on this board open up a brewery in Baton Rouge? How hard could it be to compete with tin roof?

To my knowledge. That means it could certainly be off, give or take.

I'm no maven. I'm not an industry VIP insider like B, either. I just drink beer so I can check it into untappd. It mostly tastes okay.
