OK so maybe not ridiculously long but I'm not in the usual rush. Any ideas? I'm in Covington not too far from Madisonville.

what kind of budget we working with here?

eta: you may want to check out madisonville. Morton's, which is on the tchefuncta river has a neat atmosphere and decent specials. The food is decent, not great, but I like the joint.

Around Hwy 21 and I-12 (the general area you were describing), there is nothing great in that immediate area.

Head to Morton's in Madisonville or Rips on the Mandeville lakefront, JMO.

Bear's has good po boys. very casual and kind of a dump if you don't mind that. roast beef is good, as well as the standards - shrimp, etc.

Oh, I thought it was going to have fish. I'm allergic to most fish.

If you're talking about the one in Mandeville, that is a negative. Not associated with one in mid-city to my knowledge.

No, dinner only.

eta: Rips is nearby Nuvolari's. If you're headed that way, just go to Rips. 1917 Lakeshore

My favorite all-time po boy is Bears Hamburger PB fully dressed. (With fries and a Barqs) Just take 21 north to Tyler. R on Tyler and down a few blocks to Bears on the left..........
