I'm looking for a food processor mainly to chop onions, bell peppers, celery, etc. I would use it to cook jambalaya, gumbo, etc for parties and also smaller everyday meals. Any recommendations on size and brands?

My KitchenAid has been going issue free for 15 years.

Is a 7 cup processor a good size?

I've got a ninja. It's been a good tool in the kitchen for a very good price. I have the small and the large. Not sure of the cup size though

I have a 7 cup Cuisinart. It's the tits, some bitch will probably chop a 1/2 socket if I try. Really quiet too.

I do the same. I melted my previous one in the dishwasher. Make sure you get one that is dishwasher safe if you don't plan on hand washing.

Mine is either 7 or 8 cup. I like it.

The bowl and safety mechanism on my cuisinart broke. Not sure if I want to get another one now. I wouldn't mind one that has a smaller bowl you can put inside the larger one. Kitchenaid maybe?

I use the 9 Cup KitchenAid. I wouldn't want to go smaller than that.
I also have a Cuisinart, and it stays in the pantry. The KitchenAid goes in the top rack of the dishwasher for years. No issues with it. I broke one of the shredding blades this year. But over a decade of use...not a bad run.
