Need a little help. I own a bar/grill in Birmingham and I am having a crawfish boil on the 19th. I was thinking of going and picking up the crawfish myself and was wondering where would be the closest place coming from Birmingham to get good, fresh crawfish at a reasonable price? TIA.

You might want to look into the cost of shipping. There's a thread on online ordering here.

Deanie's in NOLA or Tony's in BR. A little farther is the Henderson/Breaux Bridge area.

Friends of my dad's near Lake Mitchell (about 45 minutes south of Bham) use live crawfish as bait when bass fishing so I assume these are the same as the ones you find at a crawfish boil. They get them locally but I'm not sure how close the place is to Clanton though.

Sexton's doesn't have fresh crawfish? We own a business next door to them.

My father-in-law used to bring back coolers full of them from Demopolis. He got them straight from a farmer down there.

I think this is one of the places that supplies the Alabama Crawfish Festival in Faunsdale. Those were no different than crawfish I've had anywhere else.

That sucks. Never had any issues outa them. They would still be my first call just question their freshness. They typically shoot straight.

205-966-0507 - called this guy last week when i saw his sign on the interstate. He wanted 2.50/lb and he delivers around bham. Said he gets them from houma weekly.

Another option i've used for the past 3 years is a lady in northport. Her prices were pretty close to what they are going for back in boutte. She does not deliver, so you would have to pick them up from her house.
