I have a built in outdoor gas grill with small countertop space surrounding it. This isnt a large enough area to do much of the things I need to out there.

I would like to purchase/build a prep table/station with a sink. I need it to accommodate prep work for large tailgate cooking, cleaning fish/duck and other proteins, outdoor entertaining, and so on.

I feel stuck on the idea of a metal top for easy cleaning, but that leaves less room for customization. Does anyone have anything similar or have any ideas?

You keeping this in a covered area right? Go buy two cabinets from lowes or HD and make yourself an island. Pretty much take 2 pre-fab cabinets. Screw them together and put casters on the bottom and the top of your choice. Now you have a mobile island for relatively cheap. Saw this on This Old House. They may have plans on the website.
