I have an Emerilware pot that I love and a McWare enamel skillet that I use for steaks and browning. I've also bought both of my parents a 6qt Lodge and they both love them. They are the GOAT pots for stewing and browning.

Great deals on enamel

I have the purple skillet pictured first.

You and me both, sister.

I did get an 8.5 qt Staub Cocotte that I really love, but it's very heavy and so I only use it on special occasions.

The Le Creuset's are very nice too. All a lot of fun to cook with.

The reason for the price difference is some are made in China. The quality of the cast Iron and how pure the iron is varies in China, heavy metals and toxic chemicals can be in their iron.
I have a lodge, it's great.

Baking one egg at a time seems like a waste of time.

...which is made in China. Good to know, as I'm leaning toward the cost effective Lodge from Amazon. 6 qt for $69.

if I only eat one egg for breakfast, how is making what I want a waste of time? Life isn't always about optimum use of time. The homemade brioche I eat with my herb n cream topped baked egg could easily be bought at a bakery.....but I'd rather make it myself. And a small cast iron cocotte works better than a ceramic ramekin....especially in the toaster oven.
