I had it at a roadside stand in the Hamptons that is known for their lobster rolls, it was underwhelming. Lobster, mayo, celery on a hot dog bun. It had such promise and just didn't deliver...

Brisbi's has a decent one , not great, but, decent.

Not to many options in New Orleans.

You can make some shrimp and crawfish rolls.
LINK /

You could replace the shrimp and crawfish with lobster.

I know OBrah's restaurant The Sammich in NOLA has a lobster poboy. It was pretty solid when I had it.

I dug the mango cream action they had going on. Not really what the OP is looking for, though

I know this sounds crazy but Quiznos has a really good lobster roll. I would get it during lent. Lots of chunks of lobster and they use a fair amount of butter on the roll. Sorry the link thing is not working for me. LINK /

This is the bun I'm looking for. It's not a hot dog bun.

Never understood why people would look to a restaurant in X region to provide an authentic version of region y's specialty dish.

If you want a lobster roll. In new orleans make one yourself. Quick blanch the lobster a la thomas keller and then finish in a beurre fondue. Let cool and add to mayo and celery with some old bay

I'm sure that tastes better than it looks....cause it look like some drunk chewed up a mouthful of krab and then spit it out on a hogie.

And don't ask me how I know what that looks like...

Which is exactly why I'm only looking for the bun. I can make the filling.
