They've dropped .30/lb since Saturday last I checked. Yellowfin could probably give you something more accurate. I do know the reason the prices are still high this year is because they caught too many in Jan. Poor farmers got the market cornered and setting price, need them coon asses in the basin to start producing, they aren't members of the crawfish OPEC.

Beat me to it. It is always something. not enough rain, too much rain, too cold, too hot, early Easter, late Easter. Whatever the excuse, it's purpose is to keep prices up.

Where can live select be purchased between Hammond & Slidell, or within about 30 miles north of there?

Coming from a farming family I certainly don't have an issue craw fisherman making a loving from their efforts..

But upper 2$ for live craw dads in Louisiana is dumb.
I don't see the demand staying high with those prices... Too expensive.
We have a boil every Easter weekend that includes 30-40 people avg.
We decided to wait and have it in may... 269 was cheapest I found them and that was last wed, said couldn't guarantee that price come sat and they'd prob go up.
I'll pass... Nit spending 6-700 bucks on a crawfish boil.

I was just messing with him because I was in the seafood business for 20+ years. I know the general public thinks it is some sort of crawfish conspiracy/price fixing but we will never see crawfish as cheap as they used to be. Demand is way higher than 10-15 years ago. More people are eating them throughout Louisiana and also a lot of people in Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, etc. are pushing the demand up where this wasn't as much the case years ago.
