Latil's Landing (Houmas House)

I have reservations at Latil's Landing at the Houmas House Plantation for VD.

Looking for recomendations has to what to get.

I am sure he'll have lotsa specials and I know this doesn't help but EVERYTHIG I and the Mrs have had there has been great.My last trip I had the elk strip but duck,seafood whatever has all been superb and the soups fantastic.God early and enjoy the house and grounds.Borderline tacky inside but still interesting and the grounds are great as is te little bar outside.

That's what I was hoping to here. I've never been there and was hesitant to try a new place on VD (didn't want to bring my wife somewhere bad), but I also was looking for somewhere with good food and different than the "normal" restraunts.

Crawfish pumpkin curry soup, sounds horrible taste great, lamb chops are great, Duck was great

I was treated to the wine tasting dinner...EVERYTHING was divine...i loved the appitizer with scallop and fois grois...the lamb was very good also..amazing experience!

they have a vodka and sherbert palette cleanser that is pretty interesting. I know the chef had some great specials lined up for saturday, but I didnt inquire too much about them. Was told there are still some openings for friday night, but saturday is packed.

Bisque of curried pumpkin, crawfish and corn is great, rack of lambs burnside, and there is usually some sort of fish that is good.

as stated above go early and see the grounds, the turtle bar thing is really small, but a neat place to hang out for a few.

I called today and they only had a 6:00. Which isn't bad since it'll be light outside and we can see the property.
