Someone needs to open a restaurant on Prien Lake or the river, basically a Regatta not an hour away. Looking for a place like that this weekend but really don't feel like driving to Lake Arthur. What do they have down there by the canal where Bennigan's used to be, anything decent?

I don't even know what's there currently; it keeps changing hands.

Is this the first place that comes to your head when you hear LC? While I appreciate a good Darrell's sandwich, this is clearly not what I was asking

Yea, I've heard of Huddle Up but I'm not sure what it is or if it's still there. I actually wish Bennigan's would have done better, it wasn't too bad.

Your closest bet for something like that is probably Grand Lake. I don't know how we haven't developed the lake front with more restaurants by now.

I want to say it's changed again. I honestly forget that the building is even there, but being able to boat to dinner is a thing of beauty.

It seems like that would be a huge money maker, maybe south of town at Prien Lake park.

Umm... there are more than a few successful restaurants downtown.

Yeah. Most of that surrounding area is private property, but if they found space, I think it would thrive.

I have not, but have heard good things. Kind up hard to frick up macaroni and bacon on a hot dog though.

Would be cool if they worked in a Regatta type place in the new casino.

I just noticed the sign for Jag's Bistro there yesterday. An old "The Landing" sign is still on the building but the entrance on Prien Lake says Jag's. I've never been but I've heard good things. Pretty sure they moved there from somewhere downtown.

I've eaten at Jag's when it was downtown and it was not worth the price. They have the new place on the river off Old Town Road accessible by car or boat, not sure how the food is but I've heard some good things about live music out there.

Jags Bistro is at the Inn in the Bayou location. The burgers are solid (eggs benedict burger is good), but I haven't tried anything else. I think a restaraunt on the lake would be better than one located off of a canal like Jags.

Heberts landing on big lake had a cool restaurant and bands on the weekends. Not sure why it closed, used to stay pretty busy
