I really know nothing. We have a wonderful family friend on staff there, and that allowed me to confirm the previous rumor that a sale was in the works. The knot was tied yesterday, I think.

La Provence, the landmark French restaurant in Lacombe, has new owners. The Besh Restaurant Group sold the north shore restaurant this week to chef Eric Hunter and Jennifer Pitmman Hunter, a couple with long family ties in the area who recently moved here from Texas to take over the storied old country restaurant. A spokesman for chef John Besh confirmed the news this morning. The restaurant remains open for business, and the Hunters have been living at the restaurant as they chart its next chapter. The Hunters previously ran a restaurant called Fire Oak Grill in Weatherford, Texas, outside of Fort Worth, serving a menu of Southwest flavors and what the Star-Telegram newspaper has called “refined Texas cuisine.”

I had heard some mixed reviews over the past year. Hopefully the ship is righted because I loved that place

The chef/owner who is taking over LaProvence is a Louisiana native who was the highly acclaimed chef at The Lonesome Dove, a gourmet bistro in Ft. Worth, Texas. I have eaten at The Lonesome Dove and it was excellent. Can't wait to try LaProvence once he gets settled in.

Chicken Liver Pate

One of the easiest and cheapest things to make at home. I do it several times a year. This is a good start but youtube has tons of versions. Check it out.
