I've got a $100 gift card and was thinking about getting some new knives for our camp.

I don't own any Chicago Cutlery stuff, is it decent?

Any knife block is better than what we have at our camp. Just do it.

I have CC blades at my house. I use them everyday and have held up for over 10 years. It 's good stuff, and based on their performance, I couldn't justify paying for anything more expensive.

Victorinox 8 inch chef's knife. You'll see them pretty often under $35. Best bang for your buck.

Will you actually use all the knives in a block at the camp? The only knives in that set I'd use at the camp are the chef, santoku and steak knives. I'd rather buy separately and get better quality and ones I'd actually use.

Get a magnet for the wall and store your knives on there so they don't get banged up.
