My question went unanswered earlier Powerman. Did you get the 6 quart or 7.8? It's been my indecision between the two sizes which has kept me from ordering it so I'm wondering which you got and why you think it's the right size. Also, Amazon discontinued this item recently for about a month because of shipping damage issues. Did yours arrive safely?

Sorry I didn't see it

I got the 7.8 quart

I went with the biggest option because I like to do gumbo in these pots as well

I'm leaning toward the 7.8 myself.

The only thing wrong with that pot is you aren't cooking in it.

Why not a pot roast? Gravy, red wine, lots of carrots, tiny red potatoes, Small whole onions.

Save the Osso Buco for later. I know it will be good too.

Nice looking Dutch oven Powerman.

You know, every time I read your title for just a moment I think you scored some bodacious weed.

Shame on me....

By the way, I still vote for a pot roast. W ewent to Winn Dixie this morning and bought a 4 pound chuck roast. If you would come by the house and bring your lodge pot, I'd help you break it in. I think I have 3 pounds of carrots, which is my favorite veggie to go into the pot with pot roast.

I absolutely don't need one, but I could pick up one like your latest purchase for our kitchen.

Hope you enjoy it. I see lots of good stuff in its future.

Until your punk arse had to put me on the spot I had no answer to this question. Then I thought I might as well really take it back.

I'll be alright...I wanted to try it just because I thought it was interesting. One of my friends found the recipe in some book from the 1800s
