Arnold will come from behind (no pun) and win it. He is good enough of a cook (notice the judges did not even taste the Holiday meals)and is great on camera.. The network needs an openly gay person to stay viable and Arnold will fill that roll.

FWIW I think Jay has done outstanding

Alex was so much better this week, but I don't think there's a another place for sandwiches at this point, though I really wanted to eat that catfish poboy. The sauce sounded delicious.

I think Arnold is funny and entertaining, but he's also a big distraction from the food. I surely would be distracted if he did a show in drag or talked about it. Either he or Alex goes this week, I believe.

Eddie fell down on his presentation game again this week, but he's obviously a good cook. Jay had a few issues, as well, with presentation, but both of them can handle a show with preparation etc... I agree that Jay really already has a brand and POV. That gives him a 1 up on Eddie or it should. I also think he's a bit more natural than Eddie, though it's a close one.

I am not a Demaris fan. I've caught her show a few times and I find her annoying and the show isn't that entertaining overall. That biting her lip is very distracting. I was surprised they showed that a few times last night.

Yup. It did bother me as a born and raised Louisianian that he did a catfish poboy and his story was about Maine.

I think the Network wants someone who is openly gay, but the drag is too much of an in your face wow factor.

Cant stand her. And she got fatter.

This was a huge deal with the judges in her season. I am surprised she still does it.

I didn't watch her season, but geez, she should have a mark on her lip if she bites it that much. Her voice bothers me. I'm surprised she has a show just based on that. Was it a weak season?

Extremely weak and all she did was flirt the whole time to try and seem sexy/likeable.

I think she is probably filling the Paula Dean void on Food Network now. I have watched her show a few times and half the time I find it entertaining and the other I find it mind-numbing.

I think Jay has been solid every week, Yet, I still think he's playing it a bit conservative - not putting himself out there too much, because he knows he presents better every week, and will advance if he doesn't make a mistake.

I don't think Eddie comes across on camera as well as he does in person. I hearing that he's "electric", or "dynamic" in front of the camera, but I don't think that presence comes across in the presentation. I think he's also holding back a bit, and not as entertaining as he could be.

Arnold has been pushing the envelope all along with his POV.

I agree with everyone that Alex won't win because his niche is not going to boost the FN ratings.

It will be interesting to see if either Jay or Eddie "goes for the win", and does something that pushes the envelope in a "make or break" type of moment.

Eddie does nothing for me. It's Jay all the way, IMO.

And I'm probably the only Dom liker. I know he didn't deserve to win, but when he DID manage to show his personality on camera, I liked it.

I liked Dom too, I think he should've just embraced how uncomfortable he acts on camera. If he had a show called The Awkward Chef I would watch it.

If he didn't have a very likable persona he'd have been cut weeks ago.

That would have been really smart and interesting. Never know who will be coming back into the competition. Dom appears to be very good in the kitchen. He might make it back. Does that happen this week or next?

The very first winners of this contest were Dan and Steve, a/k/a the Hearty Boys, who were a gay couple.

Party Line with The Hearty Boys never caught on. Probably ahead of its time.

What happens next? They are bringing one person back, right? If so, when?

The grand finale includes the final 3 contestants, right? So they are down to 4, will add 1, and then eliminate 2 of them in order to get to the final 3, right?

Are there any other details that I'm overlooking in the process?

I don't know.

There are three weeks left... I don't know if they bring back the eliminated contestant next week or the penultimate episode. They are definitely down to three for the finale, which should be August 16th.

Last I saw it was Rue and Emilia alive in the last-chance tournament or whatever they are calling it.

I completely forgot that they do that for this show.

Yes.

I haven't watched, but if you look at this season's wikipedia page it stays fairly well updated to the progress.

I love Jeff Mauro's reviews. He's a funny guy.

LINK /

It reminded me of Eddie's shrimp calamity. He made some rookie mistakes. I don't know how he thought he'd get crusty shrimp with so many of them crammed into that pan and on top of that, he then added a liquid. I found those things to be surprising.

ETA: Looks like Rue and Dom are still in the contest on the Salvation thing.
