Jacksonians - Julep closing its doors tonight

Its a damn shame. One of the better restaurants/bars just can't make it in Jackson anymore.

Jackson is very quickly becoming Detroit. Northeast Jackson is on its last legs, when it finally gives in, I can't imagine how bad it will be.

Have a friend who tends bar there. Wonder what he's going to do now.

Pretty sure it's because they got one of the worst health ratings in the city and people got grossed out by the rating. Correct me if I'm wrong though

They did, but thats a symptom of the problems they have been having for a couple years. Cant get good help, plus the perception of Madisonites that just simply won't go to Jackson after dark, killed their business over the past 18-24 months.

They had a great bar - always talent in that place when I would visit up there.

How do explain Mint closing then? Food was subpar unfortunately.

That location is very accessible . I have to believe more was in play than just a Jackson address to get it shut down.

Yep, we drive into town all the time for dinner. Good restaurants are supported well regardless of location.
