of course there is a market
my grandfather ran a butcher shop on east Blvd for fifty years
until the giant supermarkets places like his were where you went to get meat, cut in front of you the way you wanted it
I'd gladly pay double for decent meat that tastes like it's supposed to taste, cut the way I want it

All I'm saying is this place better sell cracklins / boudin balls and cheap stuffed chickens if it's going to make it. But then what do I know about overpriced food. In my opinion Target's chickens are overpriced.
Sucks to suck.

I think and hope the place will do well. I won't buy all my meat there, but can definitely see myself making a stop a few times a month. I'm fine with buying the bulk of my meat at Albertsons or wherever for a regular weeknight meal, but if I'm grilling or picking up something to head to a friend's house, this would be a great spot. Everything I've bought from them at the Farmer's Market has been good and they seem to be great people.

asking friends and family is one thing, asking the general public is another. it's called a donation.
i'll contribute buy continuing to buy their products when they open.
Cool man, good for you.

I dont think relying in a donation is a solid aspect of a business plan. What is preventing them from getting a standard business loan for the $32k
You don't think receiving 32k in interest free money is better than adding 32k to your construction loan for probably 20 years at say 4.5% interest is solid business thinking?
Glad you aren't my business partner or financial advisor.

mentality
It's your mentality and others like you who keep BR lagging behind. Butcher shops are big business these days. People are tired of buying sub-par meat from large groceries that source their products from Mexico and Indonesia.

Just pulled an Iverstine roasted chicken out of the oven. Processed Friday morning, bought yesterday, uncovered and allowed to dry in icebox this morning until 3:40 pm, salt peppered inside and out, sat on top of a bed of vegetables, trussed and tossed into 375 oven for exactly one hour and thigh was 165. Rested 20 minutes and carved.
I suggest if you haven't had one get one. You will then know what a chicken is supposed to taste like. $3.99 lb.
And who bought all the chicken feet? At 9am they were out. Said someone bought all of them.
And his Kickstarter is fully funded sans a few hundred bucks. He does some good stuff.
