What are you going to do with that much corn at one time? Freeze it and, if so, how? Each year, I make my annual whiny post about never being pleased with the fresh picked corn I've tried to freeze in 559 different ways. Just isn't the same by any stretch.

Had my first fresh picked over the weekend. It was so good.

Someone wants a bushel, I am trading more for tuna, a couple of others want some. I am more like a ferry than anything. I bet I don't make it home with more than 1/2 a sack. If I do get home with more than that I will drop it off at neighbor's houses on the way in the neighborhood...

GG, I blanch and freeze our extra. Yeah...it loses some of its crispness, but we still enjoy it.

slightly less crisp sweet corn is still better than "regular" corn IMO

The shelf life on this stuff is so short that it needs to be eaten quickly. No need to deprive my friends of a couple of good meals. No reason for me not to share the wealth...

How long does it take to dry them out to make your own popcorn or grits?

I thought popcorn came from a specific corn species.

Maybe I'll try that again and use it again, but I was pretty disappointed the last time. Might work for a pureed soup or smothered corn of some sort.

Wick, I know. I buy a lot of corn and then I just eat the hell out of it.

I passed through your parts today before I got the corn, otherwise I would have dropped you some. You know that...

I picked some up from southside produce last year. Had a party at the house. Had about 14 ears left over. I made crawfish/corn maque choux the next day. It was delicious.

Not all corn freezes the same. Some varieties keep well and others seemingly lose their flavor and sweetness almost instantly. I do know that G-90 freezes well if that helps you any.

Thanks. I think G-90 is the only kind I've ever frozen. It was just barely okay. I blanched, took it off the cob and scraped the cobs, then vac sealed it. Made corn stock with the cobs for soups.

every time we bump into each other, our vehicles are filled up with "transport stuff", nawf to sowf, sowf to nawf. When I get home, I have to look at notes to see who to call..

Btw, I need to bring tuna connection some more moonshine, I'm out of tuna.

Different tuna connection, Jab got a new job and hasn't been offshore. I am picking some up from someone else. They had a hell of a weekend. I am going to be in Monroe Thursday afternoon/ evening looking at a big fire claim. Perhaps I can bring you a little bit, depending on my allotment...
