I have no idea of the veracity of everything listed. I thought I saw steak fingers on a Louisiana Dairy Queen menu when I was there getting a shake.

LINK

Here are a few.

quote:

33. Domino’s Pizza cancelled their “30 minutes or less” guarantee because drivers kept getting into accidents while rushing to deliver pizzas. The guarantee led to at least one fatality.
34. Mark Cuban once insulted someone by saying that they “would not even be able to manage a Dairy Queen.” Dairy Queen offered Mark Cuban a chance to manage Dairy Queen, which he accepted for one day. He didn’t do a great job.
35. Dairy Queen restaurants in Texas have a different menu from all other DQ restaurants. You can only get a Steakfinger Basket at a Texas Dairy Queen.

Yep, I visited Jackson Hole, WY some years back and wanted a steakfinger basket. The employee was very clear that it was a TX only item. Apparently she got asked that a lot.

A few more.

quote:

27. Shaquille O’Neal owns about 10% of all Five Guys restaurants in North America.
28. Chick-Fil-A is not closed on Sundays for religious reasons. They close on Sundays because the founder didn’t like working on Sundays.
29. The first 100 people who go to a new Chick-Fil-A when it opens get a free meal every week for a year.
30. Panera Bread once sued Qdoba because they argued that burritos are sandwiches.
31. About two new Starbucks have opened every day since 1987.
32. The original Dunkin’ Donut had a handle (to make dunking easier).

When did steakfinger baskets become a Texas only thing? I vividly remember growing up on them in NWLA. But many Louisiana elistists do refer to NWLA as E Texas so maybe that's it

12. There is a secret menu item at Chipotle called a "quesarito." It's a burrito that's wrapped in a cheese quesadilla instead of a tortilla

This is dumb. Dan Cathy once mentioned that Truett was worn out by Sunday anyway, but Truett's own words and pretty much everything else make it clear it was faith-oriented.

That's false. You can get a steak finger basket at the DQ in Natchitoches Louisiana. My dad gets one every month.

I'm calling BS on the DQ steak finger thing. I used to demolish steak fingers and a Blizzard as a kid. And the DQ in Ball, Louisiana is hardly Texas.

I googled and found a Facebook entry by DQ which said the steak fingers are not a required menu item. It's up to the owner whether to serve them. Didn't see anything about it being a TX thing. Maybe it's a requirement at the TX stores.

The Chick-fil-A Sunday comment is wrong. It's based on going to church and spending time with your family.

I agree it seems weird to close every Sunday for anything short of this reasons. If the owner doesn't like working Sundays then he doesn't need to work then himself. If idea is that employee also don't want to work Sundays, They could probably afford to pay time and a half on Sundays and still make a ton of money, and employees would probably take that deal for the extra income.

We have to have one of the most profitable/busiest DQs in the country just up the road from us (in Diamondhead MS)...I'll check their menu...but I'd bet they have steak finger basket.
