Parrain's for casual Louisiana cuisine. Stroube's for upscale dining.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm near the airport, but will go anywhere for good food.

Not too much around the airport but it's only a 15 minute drive on the interstate in the evening to get to south BR or downtown. The TD Dining Guide is a good starting point.

Yeah, don't stay anywhere near the airport if possible.

Chimes is a good option. Its the quintessential first visit to LSU/BR restaurant. Its americana/cajun-ish with a nice casual college-town atmosphere. Decent place for drinks too if you so desire.

Parrain's is right off of the interstate so may be most convenient for you coming from the airport.

Hop on the Interstate going East....Exit Dalrymple...Take a Right...Enter LSU's campus and At highland Rd. take another right. Chimes is on the right past the next light

and again, I vote for the boudin balls and blackened alligator as appetizers!

You should listen to Otis. Go to Stroubes downtown for great food. Eat at the bar if solo. They pour a mighty fine martini.

If it wasn't a Monday, I would hands down say Beausoleil. Great high end food without the stuffy atmosphere (enjoy some Veal Cheeks or Braised rabbit and look perfectly fine wearing a nice pair of shorts or jeans with a collared shirt). I go regularly and the owners are great people. Really make extremely high quality food with primarily local ingredients. If you are in town for Tuesday, this is my vote hands down.

Another great suggestion.
