You're probably right, I have trouble finding jeans here that I can fit my legs in without the waist being too big

If I gain 5 pounds I feel fat. If I lose 5 pounds I feel weak and emaciated.
I can do either over a weekend.
I can do that from morning to night on a Tuesday
It's not the lbs in his example, it is the percent of weight loss to his existing weight.

BMI wants me at 174 to be borderline overweight, which means more like 155-160 to be in the middle of normal/healthy. My lower body carries a lot of muscle, both from genetics and years of soccer and bike riding, and I have broad shoulders. So BMI is of little use to me personally.
I know what you mean. I am almost 5'11", wear a 50 jacket with thick chest/arms/legs, my frame has been this size since I was 16. The last time I weighed 174 lbs was in grad school when I was vegetarian for about a year, did not lift at all for 2 years, and was biking a lot of miles. Friends and neighbors literally asked me if I was sick or dying at 174 lbs. My best weight is 185-190, 150-170 is almost comical to me, and I lift much lighter weights than I did years ago and do a lot of hiking and some running. I am more into maintaining a healthy weight than trying to get to some number that makes me miserable having to give up too many food or beverage choices.

Im 6' and 221. This was not done over a few years. This was done over a 10 year period. I was always lean. Graduated high school at about 170 or so and was freakishly lean, especially during wrestling season.

How much do you weigh? I can't picture this. I'm almost 5'11" too and wear a 38R or 40R. When I weighed almost 30 pounds more than I do now, my jacket size was a 42R or 44R.

Interesting. I did almost the same thing as you. I lost 45 pounds. I'm 6'1" and went from 215 to 170. According to my Tanita scale, my body fat is 15.6%, down from 24%. My waist is 31". According to the BMI chart, I'm in the upper range of the normal zone. I'd have to be 160 to be in the middle of that zone and something like 136 to be underweight. If I was 136, I'd look like I had anorexia. I can't fathom the guy who is 6', weighs 221, and has 12-13% body fat. Would anyone be bold enough to post a pic with their stats? Maybe a before and after if you've lost weight. I'm in if anyone else will. Faces can be blurred/cropped out.

I'm scared to cut back on cardio because I'll gain weight. Anyone else do just weights or cross training?
I like to eat what I want on weekends and I'm afraid I won't be able to if I cut back on cardio

I hate cardio. I mostly do weights and some cross training like biking. I'll try to do some HIIT once per week.

So the 28.8 is not a body fat number?
