12 qt - 14 qt with a heavy bottom. I want a bottom heavy enough to distribute the heat evenly, make a roux and wilt the onions in the same pot.

Everything either seems too cheap or too expensive.

The all clad 12 qt pot is $460.

I found a cuisinart 12 qt multi-clad for $120 online that might work.

I bought a 14 qt magnalite and returned it because the lid had a funky seal and vibrated when the steam escaped.

Anyone have a pot they like?

Get the Cuisinart. It won't last as long as the All Clad but you can buy 3 of em for an All Clad. They cook the same.

I don't own any Le Creuset, but probably will in the future. Everyone who owns their stockpots seems to love them.
I currently use an 8qt Allclad stockpot more than any other pot in the kitchen.

PS: $460 for the 12qt Allclad is ridiculously high, no matter which exterior you get.

I found it online on Amazon. They didn't have any that big at Walmart and I didn't check at Sam's. The seller was Sears. It was the new stuff for sure. It had a niece weight to it and a thick bottom. But the finish was already coming off and the cover didn't fit well.

This. You can get them at Walmart in the $40-60 range, depending on size. I have 2 and am very happy with both.
