You go to the deli counter, ask for a pound of manda ham. How long do you keep it for?

A long damn time. That shite is full of preservatives. You ever see how they make that shite? By using chemicals, they reduce it down to a liquid slurry with chunks of meat then press it into the shape you see in the store.

If I buy it one weekend, I'll usually use it through the end of the next weekend.
Now, the prepackaged stuff? I just use through whatever the use by date is. Which is usually a couple weeks.

Deli meat, seafood, and dairy all get judged by the smell test in my home. Expiration dates mean nothing.

Sometimes you get a week, sometimes you get less than a week. Go by smell and slime.
Slightly off topic: How long can you feed deli meat to a dog? Our little dachshund needs to take a pill every day for his Cushing's Syndrome. He'll gobble up the pill if it's wrapped in meat. So I buy the 79 cent a pack crap at Winn-Dixie.

dogs can digest rotten meat, so I would assume, well past the expiration for humans.
