Looks like we're getting one in grapevine next year. Can't be any worse than what's already here (essentially nothing with Meat You Anywhere being a big bag of meh).

It's a really cool place with average (at best) BBQ. Bring an ice chest and make an afternoon out of it. You'll have a good time but not great food

the bbq is okay, but everybody needs to eat there at least once if you go to austin frequently

Definitely worth a visit. Bring an ice chest full of your favorite brew and pig out. The one in Round Rock right outside of the baseball stadium is nice if your a baseball fan.

My go to when I lived there 10 years ago, just have to avoid the dust off the taxidermy falling in your schooner.

If you are in Dallas, you need to try CattleAck BBQ. There is a rumor going around they might grab the top spot in June's Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ joints.

Interesting.

DFW may finally have some BBQ cred after being a wasteland for so long. (I would not include Salt Lick or Hard 8 in the great category).

Pecan Lodge is outstanding.

We went once for a buddy's bachelor party. I thought it was pretty good. Did the AYCE. The ribs were the winner of all the types, but all of it was quite solid.

Pecan Lodge and Lockhart's is where I would be most of the time.

Hard 8 gets honorable mention.

Good beef ribs. Brisket is above average but doesn't come close when compared to the top tier BBQ places. Chicken is very good.

I personally like Salt Lick's BBQ sauce and have two bottles here at home.

Pecan lodge is great but I prefer mike andersons (way, way better sides and killer pulled pork and chopped beef sandwiches). But both too far to go on a whim.

Been hearing good things about Hiem BBQ in Fort Worth as well.

They say you can't even get in there at lunch.
