Guys I need help deciding on a Houston Steakhouse. Right now I'm leaning towards Papas Bros., but also entertaining Taste of Texas, Perry's, or B&B Butcher. Any help or reccomendations will be appreciated.

Shula's has the most peculiar steak presentation I've seen, with the waiter showing cuts of meat that are available. It's worth it just for the theatre of it.

My wife and I like our steaks as rare as possible and they did a great job with that.

I ate at Vic and Anthony's last year and it I thought it was good, but I was drunk before I even sat down.

The Perry's in Austin is great, not sure about Houston.

...or if you just want a steak and don't need the steakhouse feel, go to Pax Americana and get the ribeye for 2

B&B Butcher is fantastic, I would definitely recommend that out of those 3.

I know you said steak, but the porkchop at Perry's is one of the greatest things I've ever eaten.

Everytime I'm in Houston I try to stop by and get it.

I saw the short vid clip of 7 finger pork chop being served at Perry's. I have to admit it is very enticing.
I think I'm still leaning towards Pappas. Vic and Anthonys has been said more than once, I just didn't find the one at the Golden Nugget that spectacular.
Thanks for the replies.

Brenner's on the bayou has been my second favorite steak in town, after Killens tomahawk ribeye (which isn't "in town"). Though I seem to remember being in the minority on liking Brenner's.

Out of the ones listed, having not been to B&B butcher, I'd say Papas.

We are going to Pappa's tonight to celebrate my wife's grandparent's 70th anniversary, looking forward to going.

Pappas is the granddaddy and on another level. wine list alone is a book of over 20,000 wines

Del Friscos is great

Perrys is like a del friscos but more electric with the piano player and upscale bar scene

Trulucks has great steaks as well.

Pappas not Papas. Assuming that is spell correct. I think the one in Dallas is better though.

Vic and Anthony's is great as well and, if in Houston, you should check it out as much for the old school ambience as for the food. Don't base your opinion off the casino restaurant experience.

Reporting back in with the verdict. Pappas lived up to the hype on here. The dry aged bone in New York Strip and Ribeyes were the second best steaks I've ever tasted and very much masterpieces of bovinity! They were only topped by the 4oz of Kobe I had as an appetizer. I'm just going to call that Meat Butter because it just melted. I was very impressed with the wine list and our server Katies suggested pairings, as well as the Bacon Wrapped scallops.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I also experienced an excellent cup of joe at Siphon Coffee after our meal.
