Favorite brand of mix?
Favorite one from a coffee shop?
And do you do anything special with hot chocolate you make at home?

For me...
Nestlé has pretty good mix, like it better than Swiss Miss.
White Hot Chocolate from Caribou Coffee is the greatest.
And I make my hot chocolate at home with milk, not water, and I throw in caramel syrup and top with whipped cream.

What say the FaDB?

Combine Hershey's baking cocoa with granular sugar. About 1.5 cups sugar to one tablespoon of cocoa. In a saucepan over high heat, add the dry mix and whole milk. Stir often. When it is hot, add a pinch of salt and a 1/2 tsp of vanilla. Serve. Don't let it boil.

We had the best hot chocolate on our honeymoon in Mexico--very rich and it tasted like it had a little cinnamon in it maybe? Closest thing I've come to it was Nestle Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate mix. (I think I found it next to the Mexican foods at Walmart; can't get my image to paste right.)

I like whipped cream more than marshmallows. It makes it even richer-tasting.

With the above mentioned cocoa it is five minutes to make it, and that is only because you have to boil the milk.

sometimes all I want to do is put a mug of water into the microwave. If my kid gets up, the phone rings, general life happens, and I forget about it then it's really no big deal. If I leave milk on the stove, or forget it in the microwave, it's a bigger issue
